 
Investment News An article in FT Adviser (published earlier today) identified that only 4 out of 13 Hargreaves Lansdown’s Portfolios had outperformed peers on a discreet basis over the time period assessed. The charges for the basket of funds constructed by Hargreaves Lansdown are also expensive, relative to most portfolios – ranging from 1.35% approx. to 1.8%. Most investors ‘self invest’ using Hargreaves Lansdown’s (HL) solutions so when the facts are appraised it is clear that the performance and value is not delivering the best outcomes! So we see the 2 largest investment distributors in the UK struggling to deliver ‘value add’ to their investors. The concern is that the misplaced belief is that HL deliver to investors at low cost – this point is questionable also! At least SJP do not position themselves as a value distributor (that position would be virtually impossible!).
